I just finished installing OEM power locks on my 99 EK hatch. It was sure nice to be able to just bolt the actuators directly onto the lock. I was wondering if anyone knows if there's an OEM power lock actuator that will bolt onto the hatch lock? I know the 98-01 DC2s have an OEM actuator.

no EK civic hatchbacks came with a power tailgate lock, at least not in America, and i don't know if any other markets had them.

you could probably hook up an aftermarket solenoid and just wire it into the factory locks fairly easily.

Has anyone installed an OEM actuator on the EK hatch lock?

I guess I just hate the sound of aftermarket door lock actuators. They sound cheap and loud. OEM sounds much better.

From the diagram below, it looks like the actuator from the later DC2's could be attached to the lock latch.

 

i think they have them as option but maybe not

Not in the US. And I haven't ever heard of an overseas hatch having one either.

 

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck on this topic. I had been looking at the 97 accord EX wagon hatch lock actuator or the 97 odyssey EX lock actuator. I have not been able to see either of these in person but from looking online @ slhondaparts.com it looks like these actuators do essentially what we are looking for, mounting them however may be a different story. Any other thoughts?
