Default Some swap questions nad help please 97h22 into 94 lx.

hey guys,
i hope you guys can help.
I am wirking on a friend of mines car its a 94 accord lx with a 97 h22 usdm motor.
It has a p13 computer and everything seems to be ok it hits vtec. But the car has no power now i realize its not gonna be quite as fast as a prelude but from my experiences you can really feel vtec in an h22 but this one feels kinda like a b16 or gsr you can mostly hear it. Well the rev limiter hits at like 6500 now this doesnt seem right for a p13. I thought fuel cutoff was around 7500-7700 in a p13. This car has a aem cai, dc header and a greddy sp. im just trying to trouble shoot and help out a friend if anyone has any ideas or can tell me where to start id be forever greatful. It wasnt throwing a cell until i smacked the rev limiter. i will pull it tongiht when i get home.
thanks for your help
chris

The car is in limp mode.

More then likely one of the sensors is gone. Oil pressure, water temp, etc. Check all your sensors. I had the same problem and tried a new ECU, didn't work. I then tried replacing a few sensors and it now works fine.

I run up around 8000 RPM on my H22A.

Get the code and post it up. It will definitely help pinpoint the problem.

Sounds more like no vtec and more dual runner action.

Non vtec fuel cut is 6400-6500rpm. Dual runners open up at 5000rpm.

It hits vtec but not like the usual h22 you can barely hear it and barley feel it.
i will pull the code tonight and see what i can do.

Nah Seb, it sounds like the same issue I had with my swap. I'm almost sure it's a sensor but I will hold back on saying for sure until he posts the code(s).

I can guarantee there is no VTEC right now, only dual runners.

Chugger should read up on dual runners and then he would agree. It's litterally a second runner in your intake that opens up allowing more air, it will make it louder and it will have a 'kick' but not like vtec.

I had the same problem with my prelude right before my crank pulley decided to do visit my frame. There was no vtec, only dual runner with the fuel cut at 6500rpm. But, what do I know, right.

EDIT: You are probably missing a sensor or something. OBD1 is very 'casual' about that ****, VTEC will work with the engine light on, but only for certain codes. My suggestion is to get your ECU read for codes (jump it) and see what it says if your CEL is on. If it's not, I'd check the wiring for the VTEC solenoid, the VTEC solenoid or even something as stupid as the oil level and coolant temp. If they are too low, they both will not make VTEC work.

Exactly. Could be something really dumb like that. Also check the oil pressure switch.
