OEM Clutch... Why they say "not designed for racing purposes"
My 1st and so far only trackday, i ended up having to trailer the ITR home.. roughly 200km, 2x car trailers later (dont ask.... lol ).
More than likely it was becuase i was a novice track driver, being to rough, and burning out out of every corner due to Kingstar POS rubber 8)
Probly got way way to hot.. or purely a combination of that and of n00bness.
As the 4th session went on, the gears were getting harder and harder to change, then nothing at all >
Lots of smoke from the bellhousing, rolling off the track.
Heh.. this is why

All the pressure plate fingers are bent all sorts of differnt angles and ways, hard to see from the pic.
Lots and lots of clutch plate in the housing etc as you would imagine
Big  to Pizzaboy for lending a hand tonight dropping the box.
Will be replaced with an Excedy 5puk + H/D PP combo. Might hold up longer :-?
All in all

I PWND j00 OEM.
Or did it pwn me?

Almost 5,000 actual track miles on my original stock clutch and it still works fine.
You DO understand what it means to match revs, right?

holy crap you shredded it to pieces.
oem clutch or not, this sort of failure is not due to the clutch
replace clutch with oem type R clutch and do not ride the clutch on the track.

Yeah sorry my bad, its an OEM replacement lol. I didnt mean it was the one Honda put in it.
And as i said, its more a combination of Noobness and in-experienced track driving.
I can heel toe just fine under normal conditions, but i was having a little trouble on the track. More to think about, and worry about.
I was getting the hang of rev matching again in that session, but a 2nd-5th mis-shift probly spelt doom. I can imagine a shitload of heat going into it having the revs drop from 8500, to whatever 5th would give you...
Also the tyres being used werent friendly, so it was hard to take lines, and keep lines. Alot of concerntration was going into brake points, and keeping it off the grass
All in all im not actually dissapointed. Its seen some hard drag racing in its life too. I went out knowing theres always the chance of something breaking under race conditions.
The 5puk is on its way. So will be at the next meet having another go for sure

If you'd been abusing the clutch beforehand, those pictures make sense...kinda

whoah, that things had a number done on it!
i actually find it more of an effort to stop myself heel and toe-ing going into a corner now, under fast driving conditions such as track, it just comes naturally

Heres what its been replaced with

Have yet to install it, will be getting onto that Monday/Tuesday night. Should be shweet... once i get used to the "on/off" feel i guess.
Skimmed flywheel, decided against a new lightwieght one, as finances are non exsistant, and i dont know how long ill hang onto the ITR.. maybe a year or so.
5puk, solid center plate, uprated pressure plate. +26% over OEM, 1750lbs of biteover the 1300 standard.
4mm "off" to "on".. its gonna be interesting. Glad its not a daily thats for sure.
