Just recently got a type s looking into doing this reflash.. anyone have any comments for me. Can i get the reflash with everything being stock. Or do i need to get the basic i/h/e with a hondata img. as far as 8600 rpm as the new rev limiter how safe is this? all opinions and information on this hondata reflash is appreciated.

Look at Hondata's website. On there somwhere should be a couple of pages of people's opinions and thoughts after they had the reflash done. Good info

^ The Hondata website is chocked full of stuff.
As far as upping the redline, it can be ok in moderation, and I mean in moderation but don't drive the mess out of it up there.

Long tube race headers, besides making good power, pull a lot of savanging at the top of the RPM band (pulling fuel along with the pulse), making it run slightly leaner than usual. But we are blessed with Honda's tune with is overly rich uptop anyway...

That being said, the #4 reflash also leans the top-end charge by means of tuning the fuel down... so the reflash and race header make the mixture 'out of par' with what you want (pref. around 13:1).

The redline is fine. I ran the **** out of mine all the time and never had any probs and it used minimal oil.

People are going to tell you that a shorty is a waste, but the gains are ok.

I put down 204hp/148tq on a dynometer with a shorty/carsound combo. This also netted me a 13.6 @ 102 on stock tranny and azenis.
