Trouble codes?
The other day my "check engine" light came on. Not having a scanner and following the Haynes Repair Manual I jumped the two pins in the service check connector to get the dashboard "check engine" light to blink the code. The code # is 67 which according to the manual the problem is "Catalyst system efficiency below threshold". What exactly does that mean? Do I have to replace my catalytic converter? I have been burning a lot of oil due to bad valve seals and am wondring if that could have blocked up the cat. Also today when I removed the silencer from my exhaust I noticed some fiber patches. Now unless I sucked a wool sweater into my motor I think the cat is detereorating and blowing out the exhaust. Any one have an idea. Thanks.
i had da same exact with happen to me about a month ago buuuut my light went away after this truck was pissing my off on da freeway n i floored it n took off.... next thing i know... it was gone so i was happy? maybe a lil worried still.... it could be buildup in da cat sooo when i floored it..... it all got blown out? not sure buuut u can try it... put da pedal to da metal..
