Default 94 ACCORD CEL stays on- when checking for error code it gives me no flashes just stays on solid...

94 accord, engine light came on , i did the error code check and the light came on and stays on. Is this considered a code 1 or is it supposed to flash one time and go off. code one for my car is faulty O2 sensor

Not a code one, reset the ECU and if the problem recurs it's probably a fault in the ECU or blown fuse for the ECU

If you have a solid CEL whether the service connector is jumped or not jumped, that is a faulty ECU code.

I for got to mention thati did try to reset the code on more than one occasion and the CEL still just stays on. And for the record i never noticed any real change in the fuel consumption...

This is what happened to my 94. I got a CEL steady on to let me know something was wrong. I jumped the connector under the glove box and got one quick blink them a solid CEL. Reset the ECU and try again. You have to keep your eye on the CEL to make sure you catch if it blinks once. Mine was a faulty O2 sensor.

Hey Hondaman56,

I just went and checked the error code again by jumping the connector making sure this time to watch closely to see what the engine light does.

For sure i can say it does not give me any sort of quick flash, as soon as i have it jumped and turn the key to the on position it simply justs stays illuminated -no flash(es) whatsoever).

I also checked my ECU fuse(it was fine) and also reset it by removing the back-up fuse for 10 seconds. Same results...Once i start up the car my CEL stays illuminated all the way until i turn the car off. It's been this way for months with no real noticable reduction in performance

Jesus christ, a 4 year old thread bump for this?

There's a bunch of threads on how to retrieve the CEL. Blue service connector behind/below the glove box, stick a paper clip in it and count flashes.

Seriously did you read the Thread ? .. Using the Blue Connector to Check Codes Jumped the Blue Connector ..- Code Light STAYS ON .. does not blink but stays on.... that means person placed jumper between the pins on the blue test connector ...
