Default 96 accord: front seat removal & seat is stuck in one position

my front seat is stuck in one position, checked the seat rails the best i can, doesn't seem like anything is stuck there.

anyone have any tips or diy links to remove the front seat? i don't want to break any of the plastic pieces by figuring it out myself.

Be sure the latch wire that goes from side to side is still intact. Each side has a latch for each rail.
Use a 'pick' to get the plastic covers loose from the attachment points. The rear bolts will be a PIA to get out; I'll bet you'll find some coins in the track.

Yeah, real simple when you CAN slide the seat foward to get to the rear bolts. When the seat won't slide up you have to use a wrench and get the rear bolts out 1/12 of a turn at a time.

I had the very same problem. To my surprise it was fixed by simply spraying lithium grease into the rails from back and front. I suppose tolerances are fairly tight and there is rubbing of metal to metal if there is not grease and the friction won't let them slide.

that or a swivel attachment for the ratchet. should be easy to do. I had my seat stuck all the way back and was able to get it out.

hahaha so true. I had my seat stuck in the full back position (which is fine, I'm tall and use it all the way back) for 3 years. Finally pulled the seat out and found a nickel wedged in the slider under the rollers. took some needle nose vise grips and lots of cursing to get it out.
