distributor leaking oil
I found an oil leak inside my distributor the other day when I changed out the cap and rotor. I have search quite a bit and came up with a replacement oil seal for it. However if I am going to take the distributor apart I would like replace the bearing. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one for it or maybe a full rebuild kit. It is for a stock 93 Si vtec . Thanks
What bearings? Inside the distributor? You dont need to change them.
Just pop of the 3 bolts, pull the dis. and change the seal. Pop it back in and you are good to go.

thats not the seal he is talking about. There is another which is always over looked, and people always replace the entire sub assembly because they think eh nevermind. Anyways I have never replaced the bearing ive always just changed the seal. Never had a leak afterwards.

I think the main reason for it not being replace often is every where i called (honda dealers) told me it is not replacable. I just don't buy that BS. I still would like to change the bearing this thing has over 210k on it. It still runs great just thinking it might be time

you want to identify the seal that is leaking... there is an internal seal and an o-ring that fits between the dist. housing and the head/rockerarm assymbly. if you take the cap off and you see oil inside the housing then you need to replace the internal seal. if not... then the o-ring, or both.
I already know the seal is leaking and I have the O ring and ordered the seal. What I really need now is to know if the bearing has to be removed in order to replace the seal. If so then I think it might be a good idea to order and replace the bearing. I don't want to get into pulling this thing apart and find i don't have all the parts or damage one and be stuck buying a distributor to get the car up and running
