You never got any warning or dispute notice from PayPal? They aren't supposed to just give back anyones money without an investigation, only if you totally ignore them do they give default judgment to the buyer.

I don't think they will go into your bank account and take money unless it was a credit card payment and the chargeback comes out of Paypal's pocket not yours, then they will come after you hard. I got scammed once but paid with Paypal balance and they said I won the claim but couldn't get any money because the person transferred it out of their PayPal account. It's a joke.

However, your thread is interesting because I got scammed a couple weeks ago and this might be the same guy...I lost our IM thread and couldn't remember his name but this sounds familiar.

I don't think PayPal will go into your bank to get the money, only if you got paid with a c.c. they might do it because a c.c. chargeback comes out of Paypal's pocket then they will be more aggressive about recovering their own loss. They wouldn't do that for people though, they don't care who loses any money as long as they collected their fees.

i'm in the same boat with this guy. he paid me for some ecu's over a month ago and i woke up to an email from paypal today. i called paypal and they said the money is on "temporary hold" and that he has to fix some things with his account.

BUT all i know is, i sent him the parts and he didnt tell paypal he didnt get them, so i want my damn money back from paypal. if they want to freeze his account thats fine with me but they got no right holding cash that i have for parts that i've already sold him

the guy at paypal said that it should be handled quickly, but we need to file a claim with paypal because the parts were sold and shipped, and recieved (cuz he never said they werent delievered). bottom line is, those ******* at paypal can kiss my *** and give me my cash, i dont care whats wrong with his account and its not my problem

Something doesn't sound right with all that. I'm currently still waiting for 2 weeks and still no decision on the claim I started with PayPal. They can't just take all the money with no warning and no investigation. A person can't just tell PayPal to give back the money they sent you and then they get it all back just like that, they have to initiate a "non-receipt of item" process and you would be notified of it and have the opportunity to provide tracking information to PayPal. I'm pretty sure PayPal does NOT want to refund anyones money, they have to give back the fees they collected if they do that. I'm not sticking up for PayPal, their policies are quite lame and make it easy for scammers who take money. Something smells fishy though about how your money disappeared.

I sure hope you aren't talking about me! Are you referring to the original post starter? Please clarify yourself a bit more.
