Default Hondata IM gasket owners, what did your torque your bolts down to?

Just as the topic title says. I'm going to be installing the Hondata IM gasket this week and was wondering what torque specs you used? Factory specs, or a little more? TIA

I went with "feels good to me...."

not that I'm not all for proper torque specs, but I just didn't have a torque wrench with such a low rating (from what I recall).... I did this install years ago with the coolant block off option and it's been working great....

till I fawked my endyn catchcan setup and had oil dumping into the manifold for the mega lose.... but that's another story....

I just figured with a thicker material in between there, and the fact that you'll be using less threads in the head, I might go with like 3-5 lbs over factory spec.

I would go with factory specs, no more or less.

Meh, I used factory specs. Two years later, nuts and bolts are still there.

if you're doing this on the car there's no ******* way you'll get a torque wrench in there. Even if you could, you'd have to use either crow's feet, extensions, or universals, all of which will render your torque readings useless.

Because of all that.. I just tightened mine to "feels good to me" and haven't had any problems for 50K miles relating to my hondata gasket

I use the wrist torque wrench.

use the wrist-o-matic. Don't overtighten. Instead, add a little blue loctite & call it good.

Hrm, maybe I'll be getting a set of those, along with the header studs. Thanks for the link.

Mine actually cracked when I torqued it to factory spec. I wasnt a happy camper. I suppose it was just a fluke though. In the end I went with the outlaw engineering kit since it is much more inclusive and cost me $105 shipped.

You guys can get those threaded studs for quite a bit cheaper from mcmaster-carr (www.mcmaster.com). for cheap hardware and super-fast shipping.

You can also make your own hydraulic hood shocks from the gas springs available there.
