Default DC5R cams. Do they need valvesprings?

I have found a set of type r cams for real cheap. Given the amount of power 05 RSX-S make they sound like a good buy. Do they need the type r valvetrain to go along or can the 06 springs handle the extra lift?

Please search first noob. These are not going to do you any good unless you can tune your car, and right now, there are any stand-alone EMS available. If you still want to buy the cams, get them, but don't throw them in your fg2 yet. O and to your original question, they should be able to handle the extra lift, but don't quote me on this.

Yea ok new to the FG2 old to the honda scene. If you didnt know, the car has a MAF on it so any air that is going in (more/less) gets accounted for and fuel is added or subtracted. Am i wrong? So your saying to add a cams, that arent radical by any means, i would "absolutely have to have" a stand alone engine management. So when the B18C1 gets a set of Type R cams it hurts more than it helps? Also by stating this your saying that adding a header or a test pipe wont add power cuz i cant tune my fuel. why do you sound so wrong.

Haha. These cars are a lot different than previous hondas. I am not saying that you need a full stand-alone unit, just saying that there is no way to tune our cars yet, so putting in a set of cams right now might not be worth it since you won't be able to get the full potential out of them. Do you understand what I am trying to say? I'm not trying to argue or anything.

Yeah I agree because I already had the idea of
putting dc5 type r cams on my fg2 but I found
out that there's no ecu upgrade (yet) to tune
the car to use the full potential of the type r cams.
So I got a little sad.

u'll see some gains if u had the hondata reflash...
i was told that adding the type r cams will provide gains...wasn't told how much cuz it wasn't tested...but it would make u some power for sure...with or without the hondata reflash i might add....reflash just gives u more...
and yes the stock ecu will give more power cuz it's smart like that now and it's a benefit of the MAF.

go DC5 R intake and TSX exhaust...

buy the cams if they are cheap right now. and then when management comes out, the price will skyrocket!
