My brother has ordered a civic 2006 ex 4dr. Getting it the 23rd at 4pm
He is planning on keeping this car for 5+ years. I want to ask you experts how do you drive your cars the first few xxxxkm to burn in the engine and everything works perfectly?

Being an auto, you proly dont have to worry about it too much, generally keep the revs low... but like i say, in an auto...

Just take it easy for a thousand miles.

Stick the trans in the lowest gear and hammer around for the 1st 1K Miles, best way to break in the motor and trans.

factory engine like that? Just drive it man. Not many people would want to follow break in procedures when first buying a car. Just don't rip on it right away!

Just get in the car and drive it normal. Try not to rev it to redline the first thousand miles or so but other than that don't follow anyones crazy useless ideas for breaking in a motor.

Thanks
I am looking at the shifter and there is D and D3.
I am guessing D3 is limited to 3rd gear when going on uphills ?

The transmission has grade logic so just put it in drive and go.
