Yes, comptech sells a supercharger that will mess your car up.

You need to explain 'mess up your car' better. It's going to change a lot of stuff in the engine bay, yes, and the car will run a lot different, yes, and yes you may even lose some fuel mileage. Mess it up? Like... Break something? Not if everything is installed correctly and the right parts are used.

Supercharges only give you power up to a certain point in your revs. If you want more top end, go with the turbo. If you want more power initially, go with the supercharger. Showstoppersusa.com has the best pricing so far. You may want to go to the sponsors to see if there are more.

Questions: Is this your first mod? If so, why did you pick this?

There are several mods you can do cheaper that will give you better performance and will not cause you to have to upgrade additional parts in your car.

This could not be further from the truth.

it all depends on what u are looking for out of ur ride. if u are looking for something dependable and something u drive a whole lot, then stick with the basic I/H/E/reflash/lowering springs/short shifter/IM gasket. if u are looking for something u can go out and race with and drive here and there, go with a turbo. turbos are just mroe fun than a supercharger IMO. i love the sound of a nice spool and the sweet release of a BOV way more than they ghey whining of a SC. my .02

o yeah about the whole lowering springs i would rather not do lowering springs and go a head and put full suspension on it... or is that a bad idea?

I wouldn't just go out and buy a turbo kit as a first mod, yeah it is nice but you still need supporting mods. All together your looking at $4500 with everything tuned. Then add another $600 for a good exhaust system and another $1000 for suspension mods. You may want to consider a clutch too. You can use the RSX Type S parts as they are the same

That's why you don't want the turbo for the first mod. Besides, you do not know how well the Greddy turbo works yet. Wait until others try with additional mods, and see how they work out any kinks. You will see if it is going to hurt your car more than help it.

you will not blow up ur car the greddy kit comes with emanage, new injectors , and a fmic. turbo kits especially greddy are very reliable. just take care of it! i have a 99 ex with a greddy kit. i turboed it when i got it 5yrs ago and its still goin strong with 98,000 miles.

Ignore the fanboys and ignorant fools... They come in and post from time to time. Read the posts from the non-biased people who give real info, and you will go far.

I'm no specialist on any of this, as I am learning myself. Here is what I have planned... Intake - Exhaust - Headers - Full suspension kit - some cosmetics, THEN look into boost... because by the time I get ALL that done... most of the kinks will be out, and there will be some competition... not just comptech S/C and GReddy Turbo.

Nothing wrong with buying a new product.. (we all bought 06 SIs did we not?)

Anyway you look at it, you will mess up your car when you start modifying it. The origianlllly components are there for a reason. After driving there will be all kinds of wear and tear. Any go fast part will contribute to altering the car which was intended to work a certain way from the factory.

Don't mod it unless you can live it.

I would take the Comptech supercharger over the Greddy turbo. The Greddy has to much crap to put on and splice and cover with heat shield stuff. They both put out about the same HP

you sound like a newbie seeing how this is your first mod(on any car??) so takes some things into consideration if you havent already. first turbo is gonna void your warranty, so i hope you get it done right the first time and have someone who knows how to tune the **** properly. cuz if you ef it up your paying for a new engine. and think about when tune up time comes around. second i dont know how things are in indiana but here in california cops like to pop hoods just for seeing an aftermarket exhaust, and they know how to spot turbos. third your gas mileage is gonna go down. im not sure if that is a big deal to you. so if you didnt know already.

oh and a turbo will expletive with your emissions but the supercharger wont. think about the planet, j/k lol
