Hey, I was thinking about getting the Skunk 2 short shifter, but have heard that short shifters might ruin your transmission. Has anyone had this happen to them, or has heard about this happening??

i wont affect your transmission in any way. get the skunk, i installed my about 2 weeks ago and love it. get some energy suspension bushings to.

Its not the shifter that ruins synchros, its the driver. A short shifter just increases the chances of a bad driver ruining his/her synchros 
Also increases the chances of hitting the dreaded 3rd-->2nd misshift. 
Skunk is a decent shifter, go for it.

the only time i heard that happening was on the old nuespeed ones for the vw's.
i never heard about them since.
i had no probs with my dc sports on my other teg.
