i have a 97hatch i want to convert completely to obd1. my new motor is obd1, i have the engine harness, and an obd1 ecu. what else do i need?

but dont i need 2? one to plug from the engine harness to the firewall wires, and one from the firewall clips to the ecu?

 

Unfortunately, your car is one harness that goes through the firewall from the engine. You will need to reuse your OBD2 harness, but use a jumper harness to run the OBD1 ECU.

 

than can i just extend the obd1 harness to make it through the firewall?

you need a obd1 dizzy also...correct me if i'm wrong anybody...

 

the whole motor is obd1..... i just need a straight answer.

yes you can extend it...my roomate extended his harness....

 

and your positive, nothing has to run to the gauge cluster or anything?

 

the engine is obd1. my obd2a harness wont work.

 

ugh, im getting frustrated, can i please get another confirm that i can just run my obd1 harness through the firewall straight to the ECU?
