Default Electrical Discharge

My 89 CRX Si is getting a draw somewhere, and I believe it has something to do with the stereo system. When I leave the car off for a day or so, and come back to it the battery is very low and the car will not start. It does not try to start either, no chugging like a low battery would. It is a brand new battery, deep cycle, and has been relocated to the back of the vehicle in an aluminum box. I swapped batteries for that very same reason, I was running through dead batteries left right and center, so I am convinced it's not my battery. Unless something could be destroying the cells in my battery over a period of time.. My alternator and starter are new. (Though it sounds like the starter, doesn't it..) I am running an Alpine MP3 deck w/ iPod connectivity, 4 speakers, MTX 4-channel amplifier, 12" Kenwood sub, Viper Pager alarm, and power locks.

I'm tempted to take it to an electrical shop (the only one that specializes with cars in town) and get them to diagnose the car but they charge $70/hour and are booked up until next week. Also, my car has no computers to help things out..

I hate electrical problems in older cars, please let me know if you have any tips/advise for solving this problem.. Thanks

measure your current draw and start pulling fuses until it goes to 0. This will give you a starting point to probe further.

wiring is good, tried pulling fuses but could not find a draw - is it normal for older amps to give draw to battery when they are dying? sometimes my sub kicks out for no apparent reasoning haha, its gotta be the amp

measure the current draw at the battery. If its 0 which I doubt, then you dont have a wiring problem. It should be a couple milli amps with everything shut off.

Make sure your dome light is off also.

If it reads higher then a few milliamps start pulling fuses until you locate the problem.
