Mildewing carpet.
Basically I had some spare radiator hose and water in my back seat because I was just too damn lazy to change out my bad hoses, so I had it there for when I was "forced" to change them...
Anyway, we were at the lake swimming, she was tossed (I wasn't I was driving) and as I neared my car I realized that she had washed off her feet with my emergency water... in my footwell. Anway lots of water... too late on a Sunday to get it vacuumed etc. And now it REEKS.

Now I need new carpet. I was going to get some bulk carpet and do it myself but I realize that the carpets are molded... This may not be so easy. Has anyone tried this. Any experiences, good or bad?

And she is the hotness so I forgave her after she "persuaded" me to, gotta love the girlies, it was time for new carpets anyway.

It's one of the biggest mistakes I've made with my car. I bought a carpet that was supposedly molded to fit my specific car. I bought it from the company that was being highly recommened here on HT at the time. When I got it basically it was a rectangle cut to the basic dimensions of the car but not really. The molded fit didn't line up. There was too much insulation where there was none OEM over the center tunnel so the center console doesn't sit right. The carpet interferes with the trunk pop handle. It came out looking like *** as a result of the above and also because something like this you're not likely to get right on your first try. Eventually I'm just going to take it to an auto upholstery place that offers a warranty and guaranteed customer satisfaction or they do it again.

I have some kind of carpet in my car that came with my car(not oem) and it is horrible.


i would get oem carpet. even though it cost about 3 bills it is worth it.

While I agree with what everyone is saying "who in their right mind would do that?" She wasn't in her right mind... she was trashed... I gave her the keys so she could go change etc. It's my fault.
Plus she slapped me around later..... with her huge *****.

Now, onto my carpets... Can you still get OEM carpet? I might even put down some dynamat to quiet my car down... Like I said.. I am old. I like my civic but my hearing is going.

 

if you got good junkyards, look there. I'm sure there's bound to be one or two hatches with decent carpet.

worst case scenreo, suck it up and spend the $300 with honda. at least it will fit right in with minimal effort, and best of all, brand new fabric.

i have seen some aftermarket carpet that fit well and looked good but i forgot who makes it. I am trying to get a hold of y friend that has it.

and if my wife dumped a gallon of water in the floor of my backseat while drunk she would owe me a lot more than sex, she would also be the one buying me the carpet.

Interior is now stripped.

Funny thing is that all the coffee, soda etc. ever spilled into the carpet, made a nice brewed up puddle of nasty under the carpets...

It was time for new carpets anyway.

And yes I am ***** whipped and frankly, it is the way to be.
