Default Oil pan bolt (no gasket??)

So I changed my oil for the first time the other day, and come to my suprise there wasnt a gasket to be found on the oil pan plug (bolt). Is this normal or did I get screwed? I put it back on as I found it and have yet to leak any oil to my knowledge. Is there supposed to be one, or does it create a sufficent seal without it?

It would not hurt to throw a rubber gasket or metal thrust washer on there. There wasnt one on my coupe originally, so It came OEM like that. But I out one on it just to be safe.

K-Series engines should always have a washer between the drain plug and the oil pan. Even the service manual says it.
