Default body work

So my brother is wanting to fix up the rust on his 91 civic si hatchback. He wants to bondo the car (as cheap as possible) and then spray the car flat black. He paid 400 canadian for the car so he thinks he just might as well. I know not many people on Honda-tech would recommend this but we are planning to take a week and do all the body work and then spray it in a shop (by a friend). Im just wanting to know what is the best way to do this without spending alot (perferably under 600 atleast)

the rust is pretty much every where, and i hear that most of the car wouldn't be that bad to fix properly but the quarter panels are.

any suggestions?

Me and my "wavey" drivers door agree with you.

im in a similar situation. Is bondo an acceptable way to fix dents? will it last? I've got a few good door dings id like to take care of, and a small-medium dent where some effing theives used a crowbar to break my rear quarter window (and used the body as leverage). Assuming I practice on some scrap until I got the method down, would the work last? or would it be better to let a body shop do it (and pay much much more)?

I guess I'm asking whats the general opinion and why?
