help with 99 integra seats in EK
I'm trying to get the rails off of a set of 99 integra seats so that I can use them in my EK. Well, the driver's seat has those 2 ***** that adjust the bottom cushion. How the heck do you get that plastic panel off to reach the bolts to take the rails off? Do you have to take those ***** off? Lastly, if they're going into an EK, do I have to switch both sides of the rails? It seems as though the rails towards the sides of the car fit, just the rear bolt in the inner rail that doesn't. Any advice would be appreciatd. Thanks!
You have to take off those ***** to take the panel off. If you look inside, the ***** are held in by snap rings so you have to them off to remove the *****. It's a bitch to put the rings back on because it's a tight space, so I just left them off. The ***** will fit back on pretty snug without the rings. I would also swap both rails, it only takes another 10 seconds.
i would just use the integra rails for this. i tired swapping the rails, but found it's not as easy as "just swapping the rails," but try it for yourself. i ended up using the stock gsr rails and modding them a little to make them fit. the front two bolts will go in no problem, it's the rear two that are gonna give you problems. the reason being, the gsr rear rails are different from the civic's. the outer rear rail bends down, while the civic's are straight out. the inner rear rail is flat (same as the civic's) but it is either too long or too short, can't remember. anyways, to make the rear rails bolt in you have to modify them a little.
1. REAR OUTSIDE RAIL put your seat in and bolt down the front bolts to make sure the seat doesn't move. then use a hammer or rubber mallet to bent the outside rail down to almost a 90 degree angle until it is flush with the bolt hole. test fit it. don't worry using the hammer won't hurt anything.
2. REAR INSIDE RAIL once you have the 3 bolts in, check to see where you are at with the last bolt. should be that the integra rail is too long for you to directly bolt it in. here's where some more modding comes in. if you notice the only thing in the way from bolting your last corner down is a small end (nub) at the end of the rail. what i did, was i took my seat out again and used a hacksaw to cut the (nub) piece off. afterwards, reinstall your seat and the 4th rail should end in length right before the bolt hole. finally i found a sturdy washer and bolted the last one in. the washer will hold in at least half of your rail, which is almost as good as stock, and much safer than nothing
good luck, let me know if you have any questions

Thanks for the tips...I'm going to try and pop the pins out to take those ***** off. Unfortunately, modifying the rails isn't an option because I have to return the old rails. Thanks again
