20Aug06 Auto-X
Hey guys today i went to my second Auto-X event and i actually won my class with my completely stock si with all-season tires. I was up against some tough competitors. Here's a list of them:
Subaru Impreza RS (with performance tires)
Hyundai Tiburon V6 (brand new, still with temp plates)
Mitsubishi Eclipse V6 (older one, with exhaust and performance tires)
Oldsmobile Alero (no joke, completely stock)
I also beat ppl that were outside of my class including 2 s/c cobalts
, 2 camaro's, and all the other POS cars that were there.
Here's the vid, ENJOY!! P.S. the vid is 14mbs.

Ummmm... No offense, but judging from the size and layout of the course coupled with your perception of "tough" competition, I'd say that you were driving in a weak region with no National level drivers against a bunch of other locals. Out of curiosity, do you know where you finished in the PAX standings? Can we have a link to results?
Seriously, try to make arrangements to travel to a bigger region or event (even if it is for the weekend) and try your hand against some seasoned autocrossers, especially those who have run Nationally, the experience will be eye-opening... And I mean this in a positive manner as it seems you are serious about the sport. So am I and this is why I'm suggesting you go somewhere where there is real talent in both course design and driving abilty.

Hey bud, it's just for fun and the other people have been racin at that place for a few seasons now and this is my second time. That place is dominated by Subaru's, and my only competition was that RS which is a really good driver and last week he had everyone beat by a few seconds. And btw the closest sanctioned auto-x is in Sioux Falls which is like 350 miles away on the other side of the state (i'm stationed in rapid city, sd). I'm not doing this for the competition so i don't plan on modifying my daily driver. Maybe someday when i get my rx-7 i will set it up for this **** and really be competitive. ANd i'm sure there are alot faster guys out there but not anywhere close soo don't burst my bublle cause i actually did good on my 2nd tiem out, i'm still learning ya know.
