Are you talking about the 99-00 si? If so, your dx axels will not work with it.

nope doesnt mean a thing, what you need to see on the backside of the tranny where the tranny fill plug is.
You will see either
P4A or(P20)-A000 = small bearing case = DX/HX/LX etc.
or
P4A or(P20)-B000 = large bearing case = EX,si

basically this will tell what kind of tranny you have. Good luck.

it should say either A0000 or B0000. and i dont think its oem lsd, oem d-series lsd is almost impossible to get since they only came out in canada models as an optional feature.

another way to find out is to max out 1st gear and see where it stops
cx should stop at about 35mph, dx is 30mph, ex/si maybe shorter i'm not sure, ill check tomorrow.

nothign wrong with if you're sure there's lsd. i'm saying OEM lsd for d-series are rare. there's a lot of aftermarket ones that people install, but installing incorectly can do more harm than good.

He is correct about the trans in and the marking on the case. S20-A0000 is the non EX/ SI trans S20-B0000 is the EX/SI. I however was not aware that the S20 trans was available in north America with an LSD. I am not saying that you are wrong just I didn't know that

look around the fill pug on the transmission. On mine there are 2 or 3 small circular stamps in the case in one of them there will be the S20 B0000 or S20 A0000. they are very small and if you have a lot of grime on the trans case you might not be able to see them

The following pic is of an ITR trans LSD diff, but a D tranny with an LSD should look the same if it has an LSD:

If you cannot see through your diff just like this pic, and there is a bar going diagonally through that hole, then you do NOT have an LSD in your tranny.
