K-Pro is a hondata Engine management application for the K series motor. It is by far the most superior of the K series EMS. I would reccomend it because of its easy interfaces, and tuning capabilities both. I have tuned a friends '03 Si using K-Pro, and I would reccomend it to anybody looking to tune their motor.

In it, you can change fuel and ignition maps, VTEC engagement points, timing curves and other things. If you dont know how or never have used it, I don't suggest anything but going to a REPUTABLE tuner and having him dyno and street tune it for you.

You cant use K-pro on the Si though.

Not on th '06's, no. But rumor has it that they will release a KPro on the z3 by the middle of next year or so. I will see if I cannot come up with the link where I read that.

i went on hondata.com forum and asked if they were making kpro for the 06 Si and the hondata admin said no because of the drive by wire.

I think it can still be done even with DBW, they just need to learn how to tell a machine to do what they used to do physically... doesn't seem like it's that much more complicated... just a different way of doing things.

What kind of differences will you see with K-pro versus the reflash? I have already researched the reflash thoroughly, just explain what K-pro would do instead of the reflash.

I agree. It is the same thing, just a different method of reaching the same goal of opening the throttle.

A reflash goes off of what mods you already have. If you have a DCRH, AEM CAI, Heatshield IMG, and exhaust, you have to get a reflash to accomodate THOSE mods specifically. You cant tune a reflash, or change anything like VTEC points and fuel maps. To see what I am talking about, read this page from Hondata...

http://hondata.com/reflash_06_civicsi.html

A kpro will introduce tunability on your part. Changing of ignition maps, fuel maps, datalogging, changing VTEC points and such. You dont have to get it just for a certain amount of modification, because you can tune it as you go.

If you don't know anything about tuning, I would suggest a reflash. It is simple, quick and effective. But it does not work on a stock Si.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Hondata's website &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The K20Z3-06Si reflash lowers the VTEC point to 4500 rpm, advances the cam angle and raises the rev limit to 8600 rpm.

We have implemented a VTEC window from 4500rpm to 5800 rpm.

Below 4500 rpm the K20Z3 is always on the low cam
Above 5800 rpm the K20Z3 is always on the high cam
Between 4500 rpm and 5800 rpm the K20Z3 is on the low cam at part throttle switching to the high cam at full throttle.

This one reflash will work well with a variety of aftermarket performance parts. It will work well with:

An intake
Cat-backs (as long as they are less restrictive than stock)
A race header *
A combination of intake and race header

You must have a minimum of an intake or header.

It is not designed to work with a stock 06 Civic Si and will lose power between 4500rpm and 5600 rpm if installed.

The VTEC switch point on this reflash is very smooth - much smoother than previous reflashes. With a stock air box and race header the switch point is virtually undetectable. For the reduction in VTEC "kick" and aural stimulation, we apologize, but this is the path to maximum power.</TD></TR></TABLE>
