Exhasut hitting resonator... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol lovin the rims.
but I got the same problem.
What type of shift linkage/mounts are you running?
I am running hasport mounts on a b series, with innovative (sp?) shift linkage, with new bushings. But mine also hits and wondering the same thing.
Mine feels like it hits when I go side to side too almost, but I need a new shifter also, its so loose where it connects to the linkage.
Bump to see if anyone else cut it

You could make a longer exhaust hanger, and it would drop the exhaust away from the shifter. But I don't know about cutting the shifter.
ahh, your rockin those new hub-less reeeemz...haha
as ghetto as it sounds, i think the most logical thing to do would be just hammer a small indentation into the resonator, its not gonna hurt anything as long as its small, id rather than than mess with your shift linkage....but if it hits really bad than i don't see any other option then maybe new linkage bushings and what not

There are a number of options for that.
1. Move resinator forward or backward
2. make a slight bend in the pipeing there to follow the stock exhaust's path, they have a slight bend there
3. remove resonator all together
4. lower exhaust a bit
5. If none of the above works, fix your linkage, must have a problem!

what is the function of that small amount of steel to hang off of it though?
Weight balance?
I mean it just kinda overhangs off :/ I can see like the stabilizer part goes into the bushing that holds it to the underside, but i always wondered on the hangoff on the linkage part.

EXACTLY!!!!!! I dont see a 1/2"x 2" long piece of linkage being any help....

1.I have a catback exhaust, I'm not moving the res anytime soon.
2.I could bent a lil dent in there but it seems like thats whats happening already!
3.never removing my beautiful resonator.
4. **** scrapes as it is!!!!
5. linkage is brand new IL4 EF/b16 linkage

Sooo....your exhaust is hitting your resonater?
Hmmm......Thats the way it works. The resonator is your exhaust.
ha-ha.
Anyway, yeah, just get your resonator moved back 6 inches. That worked for My hatch project.

lol, so because you have a pretty storebought linkage and exhaust you cannot modify it? lol, I have a stainless catback too, but my resonator isnt in no car show. If they made the exhaust so that the resonator is right under the linkage, regardless of weather or not it actually hits, that is a poor design in my opinion.
If you dont want to modify anything, then I guess live with it.

Do you have a short shifter? That would automatically put the linkage closer to the exhaust. I remember mine hitting when I had a short shifter.
But to answer your other question, I've cut some of that extra piece of that linkage off before, and didn't have any problems.
