Default Just Got me a 97 lude!! need recomendations!

Well i just got a 97 lude and i just dont know where to start. I was thinking of going n/a for now, until like 2 to 3 years, then go turbo. Because of the $$ issue. Im thinking of starting with a Header and Catback. But I dont know the best companies out there. any other recom. are welcomed. BTW it has that tranny thats auto and has the option for the 4 controlled gears. IDK whats is called.

There are only 3 headers that will actually do some performance for you car. SMSP, Mugen, and RMF(I believe is the name) all other headers are pretty much pointless. As for exhaust, are you wanting your car loud or quiet? There are several different exhaust systems to chose from. Just use the SEARCH function and there are plenty of topics about this.....

i've got a '97 as well, good choice. Also i like those wheels that last guy was right, the best headers are SMSP, Mugen, and RMF, but expect to pay 700-800 or more for those. I have a DC Sport on mine but it really doesn't do anything. Best thing would be to save up for the RMF, a nice custom header that is supposed to give you 200 whp with an intake and exhaust.

I have Apexi RS exhaust on mine, crazy quiet. There really isn't any "best" exhaust, just depends on your noise level that you want. Just search around on here and you'll find whatever you want

thats 7-800 used. and mugen makes a nice catback exhaust system for the lude. or piece your own together with ktellers piping.

go look at the DTR headers, good performance but again they're up there with mugen and the rest of them for $$$'s. there's a thread on here where they tested a load of headers and DTR, hytech and smsp were the top performers but the cheaper vibrant wasn't to far behind. nice car BTW, what's the name of the kit you've got, interested in that rear end

Thax for the advices. Ill start looking around for those. Other than that what should I look for more performance. I already have a cold air intake.

nice lude, i had a 98 EGP auto lude as well before. if i were you, i would drive the car for a bit first because like many many others, i found the auto with sport shift lude to be lacking in performance after a while, and maybe save up some money before modding it for a tranny swap. i had mine for like 2 years and i started hating it, now i have a 2000 type sh and the 5 speed is 10000X better. totally up to you, and congrats on the lude.

if you're going to go turbo, i'd forget the header.

if anything i'd save for a 5 speed swap.

save up for Hondata, it'll be good for tuning a mild n/a but from what i've heard they're are essential for an FI build, i just bought an s300 on here from a guy (thanku turbolude97!) i've wanted one for months but now i've got it i dont know what i'm wanting, FI or NA. Eng Mgt especially if you get cams
