Default HELP....Wiring Question for Type-R B18C into a 98 Coupe EX

I'm tired of getting the runaround from local shops...i got a 98 EX coupe with what I think is either a 96 or 97 JDM B18C Type-R motor with a P73 ECU
I need to know what engine harness i need for this cuz i got all sorts of extra plugs and i don't even know if it's OBDI or OBDII or some combination thereof
OBDI, OBD1.5A B Q M X L VZ i got no clue. please help!

i used a 96-98 civic ex harness on my swap... but you need to find out what obd your engine is... a good place to check is your ecu

also, your head has a stamp in it telling you what year it was made... it's by the header... that will give you an idea as well.

Your car is obd2A
The JDM itr motor is also obd2A

You have to reuse your stock harness and fit it to the ITR motor.

it's a P73 ECU
I also noticed that my reverse lights no longer work because i think the factory ECU handles that duty while the JDM integra had an outboard relay to control the lights

Im pretty sure your ecu has nothing to do with your reverse lights. lol

Did you plug them in(the connector on the tranny)?

i'm pretty sure the stock ECU had an internal relay that saw the reverse continuity switch from the tranny to the ECU. I used a digital multimeter to test for continuity and the switch which sends the signal is good. the 2 wires get continuity when put into reverse.

i'm not real concerned with the reverse lights...worse comes to worse i can wire up a relay to do the job. i'm more worried bout which engine harness to use.

I looked at the wiring diagrams on the '98 civic and it shows nothing in the back-up light curcuit going to the ecu. There is just power to the back-up switch(from fuse #19). When you put the car into reverse, it completes the ciruit and sends power to the reverse lights. Thats is. No ecu or relays involved.
Works the exact same way in an integra.

You have to reuse your '98 civic harness.
