Default Kteller exhaust install problems. Any ideas?

Just got my Kteller Stainless 2.25" bolt up kit. I was intending to use an OBX twip loop muffler with the system, but tubing takes a downward bend over the rear axle and it doesn't line up with the inlet on the muffler.

I have contemplated heating the pipe and trying to take the bend out, then just cutting it to length, but I'm worried the wall of the pipe will collapse if I do that.

Anyone using a twip loop muffler with this system, or any muffler with an inlet at the top? How did you attach it?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other problem I had was the location of the undercar hanger. It's too far back and doesn't line up with the hangers on the car. I don't have a welder so I can not cut it off and move it. My TEMPORARY solution was to clamp some fuel tubing around the hanger on the exhaust to keep the rubber hangers from slipping off.

There's a reason the TR is more expensive; that's not the first Kteller exhaust I've heard of with fitment issues. I second returning it.

It's a nice system and the fitment issues don't seem unmanageable.

Guess I'll see if Kteller will swap the axle section for a pipe that will meet up with the twin loop inlet. Still not sure what I'm going to do about an exhaust for this car in the meantime however.

Two problems with the stupid responses in here.

1) This bolt up kit is a universal kit for the car, and therefore some variables may be different that make bolting it up difficult.

For the hangers, maybe his car has a muffler, cat, or resonator that is a different length than what is required for this system to work. I believe kteller has a few options when you buy the kit from their site.

2) The rear section "issue" isn't an issue at all. Kteller didn't create that piping to be used with any particular muffler, therefore it isn't their fault that it doesn't line up. That is an issue that is to be solved by the buyer and an exhaust shop if you don't know how to cut, align, and weld the piping correctly.

NOW, to the poster of this thread:

As for the fitment where the hangers are, answer these questions:

1) Is your exhaust manifold stock or do you have a header?

2) Is yours catalytic converter stock or is it aftermarket (possibly different length than stock...)?

3) Is your resonator stock (same issue as the catalytic converter....)?

Like I said above though on the rear section, just take it to an exhaust shop, thats what they get paid for. They could also lengthen your mid section to help the fitment of the hangers if your header, cat, or resonator is to blame for the fitment problems.

Kteller can't read your mind or make a perfect bend based on a design of muffler that is copied differently by a few companies...

Just for the record, I don't have any affiliation with kteller, and actually have quite a few instances in my HT history of disagreeing with their actions (mainly in reguards to omni products) so don't feel like Im some secret employee in here jumping down someones throat.

I didn't say return it because it's defective. I meant return it so you don't end up chopping up a perfectly good exhaust just to make an ebay muffler fit.

Go to a muffler shop and have them custom bend some pipe for you and weld in some resonators.

the point is to chop it or weld it up to your specific application. This is just a piping setup that routes through the factory system. any variables like mentioned above will always caused fitment issues.

a) stock exhaust manifold

b) Carsound cat, stock length

c) the resonator came with the Kteller piping

I'm not upset with Kteller at all, just looking for a solution to get the car back on the road today. All local muffler shops are closed and I have to be at work tomorrow morning at 8am.

Really, the fitment of the exhaust is fine except for a hangers about 1.5" too far back. I'm running an odd muffler apparently and just soliciting ideas.

i'd say just take it to a muffler shop. thats an easy chop and weld job for them by just adding a piece in.

but if you need it done by tomorrow I dont know what to do

Got the car going by using a piece of flex tube in place of the rear section of the exhaust. Welcome to the ghetto:

Leaks, rattles and is about a 1/4" from the gas tank, but it works.

I took the pipe to a Meinikee yesterday and the guy said it couldn't be bent or welded because it was stainless.

Kteller was surprised by the inlet location on my muffler when I sent them the picture, saying it seemed very far back.

how did you finally solve this exhaust setup issue? I ran into a similar issue trying to use a magnaflow muffler some time ago and ended up settling for a wimpys 11" long muffler. I'm considering options for putting a bigger muff on there without deleting my kteller pipes.
