Default does this look like the real deal

found a hondata ecu on ebay and was just wondering if it looks ok or fake or something
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/hondata-...wItem

he says its for an N/A car but he has more and can put a turbo base map in it

if this is all fine am i right in saying that to fit my ukdm 99 civic vti (b16a2) that all i need is an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness
thanks

im no hondata expert but everyone obd1 hondata chipped ecu ive seen comes with a little blue box...ill bet thats just a p28 chipped with some generic ebay chip....also notice how he doesnt say if its a s100 or s200 or s300 version,,or anything......I would pass on that ,,but wait for more experienced people to respond 1st..

also the guy doesnt sound like he knows much about anything...

"this ecu was done for a full race all motor high compression acura gsr b18 engine with intake, header, exhaust, type r cams everything, it has no top speed limiter and everything is upgraded ignition curves and fuel mappings everything the amazing thing is it idles good and steady for a race ecu, it is perfect for nearly all engines no matter the setup stock or lightly modded b16 and b18 and type r. i even tested this on my friends d16z6 92-95 sohc vtec civic and it pulled much harder to 8500 rpms"

^^^Sounds like an idiot that doesnt know **** to me............

you could go with crome / crome pro much cheaper. even if you buy everything from a dealer (modded p28 / hondata box / conversion harness) the price should come out to about ~1/2 of what you're quoting above. I don't know how much different this would be in the UK. (I was just looking at lightningmotorsports.com)

One of the most cost effective options for you would be to find a used obd I ecu locally (or get one off these boards / ebay) for ~$100, and chip it with a kit, also get an obd II conversion harness (xenocron.com offers these). Then you'd be ready for either crome, uberdata, or an hondata setup. much cheaper than $2000 i believe. good luck

i ve looked at crome and uberdat but tuners are in very short supply here in the uk, i know of about 2 hondata tuners and none of them will touch anything else

the problem is 99% of the tuners here only specialise in 1 type of ecu and they arent actually any good at the their ecu of choice and damage alot of cars or make very little power
and the few that do know their stuff are in really high demand charge loads of money and will not touch any other type of ecu

tuners are so bad over here that ive been trying to find out about some sort of course so i could have a go at it my self but then i have the problem that i need a load of cars to practice on before i can even think about doing it for real

and to top it al off the worse part of the uk is the part were im from

so if any tuners out there like sheep and lots of rain then move to the uk and you could make a killing
