Default car dying/shaking/etc

a few days ago i noticed some hesitation while driving, and i noticed it was idling around 1000 or a little above. today when i tried to start the car, the rpms kept dropping and it died. i finally got it started after revving the engine a lot and trying a few times. later on, the rpms would drop really low every time i stopped. the car also shakes if i'm giving it little or no gas as i'm driving, mostly when its below 3500 rpm. as i was coming home, the car died completely when i was taking a turn and the alternator light and oil light both came on. my friend suggested it could be a bad icv, but i'm not sure. if anyone has any info, help, or suggestions, it would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks.

bump again. and another note. my ac condensor drain is plugged or something, so instead of the condensation dripping out underneath the car, its all been coming outside. could this be something electrical due to all the water thats been leaking inside the car? (there were puddles when i wet-dry vacced it today)

When's the last time u checked ur timing? Check ur spark plugs also, make sure they're running fine, and not rich or lean. If ur alternator light is coming on around a corner, there could be a loose wire or connection somwhere, check to make sure ur alternator's charging ur battery, should be very close to around 14.5 volts when the car's on. Ur oil light coming on isn't a good thing, first just check how much oil u got in the engine.

same thing happened to me the other day. When mine died, those lights came on as well. I took it to Advance Auto and had them check my battery and alternator and everything was fine. It has to be somewhere else. I'll be working a lot in the next few days so i won't have a chance to look at it.

paulwithap, what year car and how many miles? I think 5th gen preludes have 125k mile factory warranty on the engine or something like that so if you take it to Honda they'll replace your plugs and wires for free. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the years, but I know they did it for me before.

no, it's not overheating, and i have no smoke.

the timing should be fine, i just had an engine swap. same witht he spark plugs. i'll check the alternator.

mines a 4th gen with 132,000 on the chassis and who knows how much on the engine. so no go on that one.

thanks to everyone who replied for the help. if anyone else knows more, drop a post.

mine did have those symptoms, but it had overheated first, then I started blowing smoke and I realized that i had a coolant leak somewhere entering the cylinders, but otherwise I dont know what it is

also, mine idles at 950 rpm which is normal, I changed the idle up b/c it would vibrate a bit and it got annoying, and it dies a couple of times, but it only shaked while below 1000 rpm, not anywhere above that, I wish I could help you out more, good luck
