you can get one of those touch screen monitors for like 300 bucks and put that in your dash then all you do is hook the screen up to your laptop.

Sounds a little fast and furious to me. What a distraction. That's worse than driving around those jerks on thier cell phones!

it's all about being custom, make your own mounting bracket. Make something so it can swivle and pivot. I think it'd be a cool idea, especially when your wideband tuning

maybe have it come from the side of the passenger side seat and where the shifter/e-brake counsel is, come up, fold out, and the be able to pivot. Just fab up your own thing or go to someone that can make something from scratch. You'd need something to keep the laptop in place and some sort of hinge or ball joint type thing with a lot of either aluminum or metal then have someone weld it together the way you want it. Its gotta be practical and not look too out of place.

few days ago in the news talked about the recall laptop batteries from Dell because of the heat battery explosion that caused a few death. i think its better you safetly put it away from the sun just to be safe.

you mean you might blow the welds?!?!?!

Anyway, a cellphone is a big enough distraction as it is, why stick in a laptop? Didn't you hear the story about the drunken NBA player that crashed his Escalalalablinglade because he was busy watching **** on the DVD player?

it is illegal in most states now to have a Laptop, tv, or portable dvd player on in the front cabin (Driver/passnger). So don't do this. If you need to datalog, bring a friend and YOU pay attention to the road.

I hope there aren't any kits to securely mount a laptop inside a car.

I suppose you could ask at the police garage, but remember, they usually have either a second officer in the car or they spend a few hours a day sitting on the side of the road.
