Tell parents or keep secret
Basically my parents know i bought my first bike like 2-3 months ago. TO make a long story short, they were worreid i was gonna crash, so i decided to sell it and they were really happy.
Recently i bought a 2nd bike with my own money , got it insured under their plan (my name), and registered in my name. Problem is that both my insurance AND title of ownership will be sent to their address while im living 50 minutes away.
Im sure i can pick up the insurance thing before they check the mail (usually comes 2-3 days later) but hte title thing is hard as expletive to guess when its gonna come. Im worried they might go crazy and take the title and rip it to shreds or some ****.
What should i do lol... one side i dont want my parents worrying and everything, other side they're gonna find out sooner or later
Im thinking about going to the DMV tmmw and getting an address change but i already did the transfer of title a few days ago.

Im thinking about just keeping them in the dark until after i get my insurance card.
If they steal the title or something , i can just call the DMV and tell them it got lost in the mail and ill pick it up at antoher location lol

The way I see it, that is a childish game to play (on both parties). Be honest with them from the get-go. If you want to prove you are a responsible enough, then stay on two wheels. Parents like the ones we have just need some time to get used to the idea. You won't be able to convince them with sound arguments.

Yea ill tell them, on the phone while me and the bike are safe 40 miles away
Id like to have all my papers before though...
Does the DMV allow you to pick up new titles (after title transfer) at their office?

I wouldn't know. I doubt it. They'd probably make you wait in the long-*** lines to tell you no.

Show them that you're a responsible rider and you know the consequences if something is ever to happen. It's better to let them know than not to. They'll probably get mad at you but as time goes by they'll eventually start trusting you on the bike.
I did the same thing with my mom, I did everything to mpt tell her until thetitle showed up at her house. Since she hadn't supported me in years at that point she knew shed be wasting her breath if she were to tell me something. she still hasnt seen it, but she knows I have it since her BF sees it often.
just tell them mang. did the whole secrwt thing for awhile, totally not worth it. at least tell them, and if they dont approve, better then them finding out with you lying

That's what I'm sayin, EGlovr is outta control. He tried to tell me that he was eating bbq chicken AND chicken fried rice at the same time.

They took it pretty well. I told them before that if they treat me like a 10 year old and start yelling at me, i was gonna just hang up. Basically they just told me to stay off the highway and be really careful. They coudln't really say anything else cuz i blew my own money on it (like all of it from working the summer hahaa)
it must feel good to have that out of the way!
btw, my mom felt better about me riding when I showed her all my gear (jacket with armor, gloves, helmet, boots, etc.). she had given up on forbiddling me riding motorcycles by that point but her knowing that I took those precautions made her feel much better about it.
happy trails...
