Can this be a bad alternator?
I have a 89' CRX Si with a B16a swap,I had my battery light on for almost a week now. So this morning I changed out the old alternator with a Bosch. I started the car and the light is still lit, so I checked for voltage and got 12.52V from the battery at idle. When I revved the engine it went up to 13.6V, I checked for voltage at the alternator and got 12.64V. Well, my question is, are the voltage readings right? Why do I still have the battery light on? Has anyone ever had problems with these Bosch alternators?
yes, you need around 13.00 + to actually charge your battery. i went threw 3 shitty autozone alternators in roughly a week. i endend up goin to a local import shop and paid 175 to have them install a alternator and belt of there own and now my battery charges at 14.50 which is plenty more than i need so i guess idk what to tell you, cept with my luck auto zone alternators are no good? (only went to the shop cause i was tired of swappin alternators and that wat it would be on them if somethin did go wrong)
