It's too bad that Honda told Lotus no to an engine supply. Nevermind that particular Prototype Lotus having forced induction, the B18C5 is just a friskier engine compared to the Toyota 2ZZ plant.

Of course, K20A would be good, too.

Oh, and that's not a Toyota engine, it is the Stock Rover K that comes in all other markets in the Exige.

Is there any more pics / info on that car? I'd love to see more of it.

Doesn't sound anything like a K20 though ... sounds exactly like a B18C5.

anyone look at the pics on that prototype site and see the pic with the K motor of the oil filter sitting upwards? wouldnt that cause the oil to drain back into the pan causing the car to take longer for oil pressure?

yea but I think I read somewhere that the motor was stock internals.. so k20Rs on a dynojet average Ive seen is 200whp (witha good tuner), with k-pro Ive seen some jump to 220whp, so the only onther mod I see is a header and intake... pretty crazy how it would jump to, to 247whp.. but If I remember correct didnt the maker of hondata tune this car right? (what better person to tune than the maker of the program)

that isn't a comparison other that one has a built engine and the other doesn't!!

honda does not have a 247 hp at the crank engine....

It has been done before, but nevertheless a VERY RARE swap. More people tend to build out their 2ZZGE or boost it.

K20A Swap in an Elise is as rare as an RB Swap in a 240SX.

Same, even saw it when they first swapped in a K20A with JRSC.

I've actually talked directly with the Lotus reps and in their honesty they admitted that Toyota provided them with a better deal with their 2ZZ-crap. It wasn't cause Honda didn't want to supply their engines, Lotus just wanted a better deal.
