Got hit by someone, need advice for insurance
Yesterday, when i'm heading home around 6:30pm. Suddenly a stupid dog ran out to the road. It's a 2 lane road and there was a car next to me on the right, i stopped completly and the lady behind me who was driving a Maxima(tailgated me a long time due to the slow traffic, the speed limit is 30, and i didn't speed coz i knew there were alot of cops around there) hit the rear end of my teg........ Me and my GF both went to hospital because of back and neck pain. My teg's exhaust bent, trunk misaligned and the rear of my car went in about half inch..... When i opened my trunk, i saw the place where spare tire locate bent in.....
The lady who hit me hurt her arm and her Nissan front was damaged seriously, headlights gone, radiator blown, and the frame of the front was bent in. Finals are coming next week, and i need to deal with the insurance company about the body repair and back pain for me and my GF........
SHould i pay for the medical bill first and send the invoice to the agent which i filed my claim on, or
I should use my medical insurance to pay and bill the agent later?
It's my first time being hit, pls give me some advice. Thks.

It all depends on her insurance company. They can cash you out or take it to reputable body shop, but you should be able to pick the body shop.
As far as injuries, this can be a long lasting headache, with final exams, good luck. Just get you in gf taken care of first medically then worry about who pays what later on.

Dude just call the insurance agent and ask him the way to go about it. All the companies are different, and one persons advice may not work w./ your company. Just call the agent and the cops to be safe, and be glad it is not your fault. Good luck.
this just happened to me, her insurance will pay for your car to be fixed (yes you can ask for a 2001 bumper) and as far as the hospital bill, DO NOT PAY IT the insurance will definatedly pay for it, if your neck is hurt call an Atorney, they will handle the whole thing and incase the insurance tries to get out of paying your bills they will take care of that too. make sure you go to the chiropractor for the full treatment cause whiplash is serious and if you dont get it fixed it will cause you lots of problems in the future. i've been going to the doctor for over 2 months now and i've gone from headaches and pain all day to feeling almost 100% the attorney will also get you 3-10 grand for injuries. i chose not to sue for i do not want to be one of the many people to make the rates skyrocket. they paid for my time off work and my car and medical bills and i'm thankfull for that. if you have any questions feel free to IM me. HTH
dont pay for **** you shouldnt have to pay for. get the consultation from your insurance agent. claim as much damage as you can and cash out what you can.

Should i Cash it out or just go to ACura Body shop and fix it? Also, will the insurance pay for all my medical bills? I called the claim officer of Farmers and he said something like they are not fully responsible for the medical bills........ What should i do? Is it expensive getting a lawyer to help me? Thks! It's my first time in accident, and i felt insurance company isn't cool in dealing with these thing......
You're not at fault. Your insurance company wants as much as possible to make the lady in the Maxima's insurance company pay your bills. If anything doesn't get paid go to any one of those lawyers you see on TV that's like "we don't get paid unless you collect." They can say that because they WILL get you money. Ya, there's too much litigation in our country, but might as well use it to your advantage, eh?
I'd get yer car fixed at a good body shop. Most insurance companies will want to appraise your car before they just pay out to have it fixed so you should look into that.

Try to negotiate on your own first. The lawyer should be the last resort, and trust me, insurance company lawyers have far more resources than these 800-GET-PAID lawyers. And if they go to court, you only collect half of the net settlement, minus "administrative", "court", "etc" fees and you'll end up with just 1/3 of the total if you are lucky.
