Air filter question
Here I go...willing to get flamed.....
K&N in my opinion is hype. Yes, it flows more air, but you don't get that increased airflow without sacrificing filtration. It's physically impossible. Their own website says so if you know how to decifer their results. I would just stick with the OEM filter, unless you are willing to risk your engine.
EDIT: I should have qualified my opinion with "All things being equal".
Obviously, 2 square inches of filter media will pass more air than 1 square inch of the same material, but there's only so many pleats you can pack into a filter before it becomes a solid.

i couldnt of had said it any better myself. although, i wouldnt go as far as it saying it was impossible. they will come out with new filters in the future that will be able to filter better and have a better flow rate.
