I'm doing a Koni/Ground Control installation. I need to know if I need to cut the bumpstops or not? Please help ASAP. Thanks

Doesnt hurt anything, I do it to my cars.....provides more travel, will be less likely to bottom out...i say chop them in half.

Cut the bumpstops in half both front and back, and reuse the upper half. The next important thing to do is to trim the dust covers. Even though they don't tell you to trim the metal ones down in the back (they say to just remove the rubber), I would suggest doing it, trim enough off so that the metal dustcover is hanging down on the shock rod about the same as your newly trimmed bumpstop. If you don't trim those metal dust covers in the front and back down, you will more than likely experience the metal dustcover making contact with the threaded Ground Control Sleeve, which will make the ride very unpleasant, pretty much feels like riding on no shocks then. Been there and done that, along with some other people on this board. If you have any more questions feel free to shoot them my way, I just did this install a few weeks ago.

Good Luck,
Jon

I would suggest removing the metal dust cover completely and zip-tieing some universal rubber dustboots around the shock, to help keep dirt and crap off the shock piston.
