mugen mf8's faded
the bronze on my set of mf8's are starting to fade, they're start'in to look like rotas... can they be polished back up or powdercoated? i'm not sure about powdercoating cuz they have more of an anodized finish to them. Can they be re-anodized??? anyone else have this problem with bronze rims????

i've tried that, it does work too well and they still fade after.

Can't redo them back to the Mugen bronze!!! Your MF10's are probably faded because at some point in time, there was ammonia based wheel cleaner used on them, brake dust embedded itself onto the finish, or they have been tracked and have been abused by the heat generated with braking.
The Mugen bronze has a bronze anodized lip, a copper base powder, with a varied ratio of orange (red), gold, and a slight green flake in it. This mix was specific to the Mugen MF's done by Ray's Engineering. Even the Volk bronze TE and CE wheels were done with a slight variance to differentiate from the MF wheel.
It's really hard to match. My uncle owns and runs the second largest American powder coat manufacturer. I gave him a bent MF10 from my S2000 to try and match the powder mixture. He's gotten very close, but still is off in shade and color sheen. The powder always is spot on match, but once baked, it either finishes slightly too gloss, or slightly too matte. The texture is easy to replicate, but you need to have the right powder.
I've even sat and talked with Kunihisa Ito (the man that designed the MF series wheel for Mugen) and he has told me that he doesn't know, or can't get the exact formula to the Mugen bronze).
Just to give you some heads up, I've owned 13 sets of Mf10's in the past 4.5 years and I don't ever remember having more than 3 sets that matched each other from the factory.
