my oppinion of the comptech supercharger (for accord v6)
...this thing sucks...in the new issue of scc, they reviewed it and were completely stoked about the power they got from it...measured at the wheels the accord v6 got a whoppin 231 hp to carry it's fat *** around...whoopty doo....that's probably a gain of around 45-50 hp (at most) for a mod that costs around 2500-3000 dollars...what a rip off...and from what i hear comptech has put some serious time into this supercharger and have come up with this p.o.s. mod that is worthless...personally...i feel that the car would do a lot better on a custom turbo charger...if you have any input on this matter please post! thanks!
Well, what you left off was the modest 4.5 psi boost. The write up gives no mention to any bolt-ons other than Comptech's own Icebox. Not to say their catback would have made a bigger difference with the supercharger but what i ask you is what kind of output would you expect?

The accord that they did the test on didnt have I/H/E. They only ran it at 4.5 psi.. The 6th Gen accord v6 is not able to run Turbo because of there sorry transmission.. There are people on v6accord.com that is running 210whp with just I/H/E bolt on and a Unichip so if you think about 210whp and if add a supercharger on you are propoly going to get around 260whp. If you dont believe me than go here and dont diss on it antill you do your research.. http://www.v6accord.com/forums/showt...&threadid=5655

Only for J series motors. You must remember the stock design of the Accords headers suck and 24 peak hp to the wheels can be gained from that alone. With a full catback exhaust the hp should be around 190ish to the wheels (160 stock hp to the wheels). Put the supercharger on from there at the original gain from 160-231 which is an extra 71 hp and then you have 261 hp to the wheels. 260hp to the wheels should be enough to mess with any stock GT Mustang 5 speed or auto and still drive around town in comfort.

4.5 lbs = 70 whp......that is a pretty good gain for very low boost. The low end torque should be massive also which will be awesome for daily driving and getting the car to move

Well it is very difficult to make any power out of these fat boys. I think it is not for the enthusist because of its weight and how much time, money and effort it will take to get little amount of power out of them. making 260 to the wheels is nice but not when you car weighs 3000 pounds and has a shitty tranny. have a v6 auto supercharged and still only running a 14.7(i think thats what they said it ran) in the 1/4, i dont know in my opionon not worth the money to me. Just my 2 sense.
it runs a 14.4 with sc and header
if you put a TQ converter...which you should do if you are racing an auto...it would probably run 13.9-14.1...
this would also beef up the trannny decently...then up the boost even to 6 or 7 psi and it would be deep into the 13's...in a big, comfortable, reliable family car...
go figure...its not a race car...but it does have potential
i think you need to do some research...i have seen real dyno charts that show
short ram intake = 10 whp
aem pullies = 10 whp
comptech headers = 20 whp
you call that hard to make power????
1/4 mile: 14.44 sec @ 97.82
0-60: 6.19 sec
This car had headers and exhaust.
Horsepower was measured at 230 @ 6630
Torque was 193 @ 5970

Where did u get these dyno plots from??? The stock intake and header must but damn restrictive if it gained 30 hp from just those 2, and whp at that. btw the gains from the magazine stand like this:
Acceleration (0-60): 6.59 seconds
Quarter Mile: 14.7 sec. @ 97.38 mph
Horsepower: 230 @ 6630 rpm
Torque: 193 lb-ft @ 5970 rpm
just to clear things up....
oh and if you were going to spend close to 5 grand wouldnt you want something better, faster and in the 13's, i guess it depends on what you are all about.....just my opinion but i guess thats not really worth anything.

I think that most people buy the car they like and want. Then they try to make it fast. I love the way the 6th gens look and I would buy one and do things to make it faster. Some think it may be crazy to try to make a heavy, big car go fast but what do the Civic and Integra people think of us making Accords faster.I'm sure they would think I'm crazy trying to make a family car fast when their little light cars can be made quicker easier.Either way I would buy the car I want first .My .02
