Default Way to tell if a JDM shift boot is real

Is there anyway to tell if it's authentic JDM and not a copy-cat (if one exists)? The sealed bag that the thing came in did not have a Honda part number sticker. Thanks.

Looks real to me the part number thing is just a sticker, it can come off..

One way to know for sure is to buy it from somebody you trust...

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that I either bought it from JDMHondaparts.com or one of the nice fellows on this board that got back from Japan recently. I trust that it is real, but I'm selling it on EBAY and someone asked me if it was real and I wanted to know if there was some way to prove that it is.

You don't know who you bought it from?

You don't know where you got it from!? Anyways, it looks real from the picture. Fake ones usually don't include the bottom bracket.

I bought two. The one from JDMHP.com took 3 months to get, so I ended up buying one from a member, but I don't know which i installed in my car.

LOL. Sometimes they don't come with the part number or the number is blacked out.

mine is real and it came in that same bag...

if you're still not sure...grab your old one and look at the boot inside out. you'll see that the boot has the exact same metal frame, color of fabric on the inside, etc., etc., etc...

kepani-who studies his parts a lot before they go on...

Its real, Some of us have started removing the Part #'s or whole tags to keep it to ourselves since some of us did the research into the parts and or bought the JDM honda Parts catalog books (Big $$$)

I was under the impression that when the ITR got the 98 Spec upgrade the first year CTR got the same treatment...
