Default I'm not an Accord guy: speedometer question. (works intermittently)

The speedo jumps from time to time; and by "jumps" I mean "doesn't effin' work". I'm assuming that the speedo and odo are electronically driven, but I don't know for sure. Is there an easy fix to this? And suggestions?

Thanks!

Which car are we talking about here?
Do you have a check engine light coming on?
Have you tested the speed sensor in the differential?

Sorry... it's my '94 Accord. No CEL at all, and I don't even know how to check the speed sensor in the differential.

older honda have a cable driven speedo, mine came loose after 16 years of service but that shouldn't be the case with your.

well, if you don't have a multimeter or if you can't locate the VSS in the transaxle, bring it outside.

you can check the signal of the VSS, if the signal is interrupted during the test drive, that's means something is wrong the sensor, could be just a bad clip, bad contact.

if the sensor signal is a go, check for loose connection on the cluster, which is a much less likely.

Honda's had an electronic speedometer since 1990. So your 1994 accord is electronic.
