Default car audio help

I am planning to get new speakers for my 06 rsx but i don't know much about car audio equipment. So I was wondering if you guys could help me. I looked at some sony, alpine, pioneer speakers, but I don't know which is best. I am looking for high quality speakers. Any speakers recommended? help me out thanks.

Before you get speakers I'd suggest getting a better headunit. My stock changer went bad so I bought a kenwood x890 and the sound quality went up significantly just from that. I think the weaker link on our systems is the head unit, not the speakers.

Good luck.

Head unit then amp then speakers. The biggest problem is the amp, it isn't made for anything except the Bose system so if you try and push aftermarket speakers it will blow on you easily. All the brands you listed are good stuff it just comes down to personal preference. Find some guys that have it already and listen to them then YOU can decide.

def agree with a head unit...that will give u a lil more power right off the bat. amping isnt necesary, but it does give u a lot more sound. i have infinity kappa series components and they sound amazing. i def suggest a component set-up though (seperate tweeter from mid-range...better sound) what u get is up to you though...talk to ur local audio place

I agree with everyone else on this thread and advise you to upgrade your head unit first, but to answer your question on what speakers to get:

High quality speakers you want to get brands like Boston Acoustic, MB Quart, Infinity or Polk Audio.
The RSX has four 6 1/2's and two tweeters in the front, so you might want to get some good 6 1/2 speakers for the back and a component system for the front (a 6 1/2 speaker, tweeter, and crossover combo).

I currently have Polk Audio speakers in my RSX and I love them, but they wouldn't make much of a difference if I didn't have my aftermarket head unit to give them more power.
