92 accord starting issue (no Spark)
Hi Guys its a 92 accord, 5spd. replaced the main relay becuase of a hot start issue and it was ok for a bit. was at a traffic light one day had AC on and the car started running funny almost like it started missing.. turned off AC rolled down windows and car just died. Now car doesnt seem to have spark just keeps turning over.. I replaced the coil and still no spark. I havent checked to see if its getting fuel yet but am gonna give it a shot tonight. just wanted to post up and see if anyone has any ideas. Car seems to turn over fine, ingition relay under the hood isnt blown. Any ideas at all??
Sounds like the ignitor in the dist. decided to kick the bucket. Check to be sure you have battery voltage at the Black/yellow wire at the coil, so you know the ignition switch is outting out.
ok i will check the voltage at the coil. Thanks. Also i did check and the car is def getting fuel. I am gonna open up the timing cover this weekend and check if the tbelt is ok.. it sounds kinda hollow to me when it turns over now since it shut down that day. You think maybe the cam position sensor or crank sensor could be bad? Wouldnt that not let the coil fire if it couldnt tell were cyl 1 is at all times?
Actually come to think of it i am checking for spark on the main lead from the coil so that is before the distributor. Wouldnt i still get spark there if it was the ignitor in the distrib???
