yes i have actually replaced my blinkers with the led lights. they are a little bit brighter and the package says it last longer, but then again i wouldnt know my gsr was stolen. i had them for the blinkers. it made the blinkers blink faster. but not much of a difference. i would just stick to the normal sylvania lights for the price.

I tried 1157 LED bulbs for my tail/brake lights. I got some from superbrightleds.com that had some situated sideways to supposedly shine out and around, and then more that pointed straight back.
Verdict? Junk. You could barely tell the difference between tail and brake function, and they were not very visible at all in the daytime (just little red spots behind the lenses). I was using white LED's inside the red and amber tail and turn signal housings.
The bulb:

Rear tails, LED left, regular on right:

Rear brake lights, LED left, regular on right:

Front parking lights, regular on left (pass.), LED on right (driver):

Front signals, regular on left (pass.), LED on right (driver):

who cares what they look like... if somebody behind you can't see them in the daytime because they're too dim, then it's really going to suck when the rear end of you car is smashed.
Safety first, people.

I agree with the safety. However, colored LEDs typically have a higher intensity than the white ones. The stock spoiler LEDs are a perfect example. An added feature of LEDs is that they light instantly. A typical incandescent bult takes about 0.1 seconds to heat the filament and achieve full illumination. That 0.1 seconds is significant in alerting the guy behind you that you are stopping suddenly.
