Default need some advice on transmission stuff (d-series)

Well, my car is finally getting out of paint, and I need to tackle some issues still. the tranmission in it right now is 91 crx Si transmission, with OBX lsd. i had a friend of mine rebuild the tranny for me with the LSD in it. he put all new bearings, etc, not to sure because I have never messed with transmissions.

now the problems...
1- I have a new set of Driveshaft shop 300hp axles. the passenger side cv slides in and out no prob, but the driver side one is stuck in the diff, and not even the whole way in, so i get tranny oil leakage. I didn't want to break anything, so I didn't go all out, but it is DEFINITELY stuck. Any advice?

2- i have not driven the car yet at all, i have a distributor from my old crx to install. the tranny does not want to enter 3rd or 4th gear. i tried checking if anything was messing with teh shift linkage, but no. the guy who did the tranny was able to get it into 4th, and says that once i actually drive the car a little, it should go in, considering its a "new" transmission. I hope he isnt dicking me around, does this sound right to you guys??

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

either way, I have a back up 91 Si transmission, but it has its issues. it was one of those transmissions that grinds, and gave trouble downshifting, but i went to a Chevy dealership, and put some of that GM Synchromesh in there, and the transmission feels perfect.

So, I got manuals, and if I have to, I will swap the diff, and fix the tranny. does it sound like it needs new synchronizers, or could i probably get some life out of that tranny with synchromesh???

also, my friend has the jdm transmission that came on d15b's (EG sohc vtec, with factory LSD!!!!!). i have a crx, so I cant use the hydraulic d-series transmission, and the OBX is apparently a pain, and needs a lil modding...
would it be possible to swap that diff into the crx Si transmission???
