94 accord wont crank at all! Please help!!!!
I have a 94 accord ex, and lately starting the car has been rather slow. well just last night the car would not start at all. Last night i successfully push started the car (i have a manual) and was able to get home safely. When I tried to start the car this morning i was unable to jump start the car. I also did not have enough room in front of my house to try to push start. So *IF* its not the battery, what could it be? Please, any help would be grateful. Thanks!
im not entirely sure if its the battery, because i could not jump start the car at all. also this has happened to me like 4 months ago where the car would not crank. i had tried jump starting it and it still did not work. my friend told me to tap the alternator with a screw driver and bam, it suddenly started up again. when i try to start the car, it does not turn, it just makes a click and stops there.
Sounds like you might need to replace the battery & the alternator then. I had this problem too... lol.
Take off your alternator & take it to Auto Zone or one of those wal-mart style part stores & they will be able to test the alternator for you free of charge.

Before you run out buying new alternators and batteries; try to see if you can smack the starter while someone holds the key in the crank position. Or test to see if there is battery power at the starter solenoid when cranking.
From your description of hearing a 'click' I suspect the starter contacts are worn out.
If you have the "ND" starter you can replace the contacts. They are available at most auto electric places and some dealers.

Thank you for your reply intense, but unfortunately i found out that it is not either the battery or alternator. i took both to autozone and they both tested as good.
Hondadude, i will try that in the morning, i've asked a few friends and they also suspect it is the starter. what exactly is the 'ND' starter? and how exactly would you smack the starter? while turning the key to crank, tap the starter with a hammer?
Thanks again for the help everyone, i'm still trying to figure it out but hopefully its the starter.

Exactly, smack the starter with the hammer and if it starts cranking, the contacts are shot. THE "ND" means Nippon Denso. I'll be doing one this weekend on a "yota". So I'll have pics ASAP
The contacts usually cost around $8 for the set, way cheaper than buying a new starter.

okay i smacked it with the hammer and the starter turned but the car did not start. im not sure if its a bad contact or if i just plain need a new starter. when smackin it with the hammer, it was like the starter was very weak and barely moved. thanks for the help, ill let you know how the new starter goes.
