almost done buying parts for motor but will my compression to high?
ok so hes the deal ive been saving to build my H/C lsvtec for a lil bit now and ive come accorss a few people who have said my setupd will have way to high of compression to run 93 and be my daily driver. parts list ar as follow
98 GSR head~~~~> all work was done by portfloe
port&polish
5 angle valve job
Ti springs and retainers
bronze valve guides
98 LS block
ls rods machined to fit CTR pistons
ls crank going to be balanced and polished
now likw i said everyone is saying it will be like 13.0 or higher ive tried using thses online comp calculators and im getting mixed results. someone pease tell me wtf my ratio will be. im stuck at a standstill. and if it is that high someone else said use a cometic headgasket that will simulate 2 OEM headgaskets?

This one works pretty good http://www.zealautowerks.com/
ive used that one its syas 14.2:1 and that cant be right
has ne1 had a similar setup to mine?

I know it looks funny but you have to think...
#1.....The GSR has the smallest head chamber volume of all the B-series.
#2.....The LS/B20 has the longest stroke of any B-series engine, so the piston at BDC is much lower than a B16. More stroke= larger volume of air.
A JDM stock B16B is 11.9:1. So when you add in the two above factors, this upps the compression ratio. I would find someone going all motor B16A and trade them their pistons for your PCTs. With stock USDM B16 pistons you are looking at just over 12:1 and that would be great. Hope I could help.

ive decided to go JDM ITR 12.5:1 according to the calc i can get them for the same price as the CTR's thanx for all the help guys

i dunno i got 10.7:1 for my old ls-vtec motor with that link^ and i was on another site and got 9.7:1 thats a biggggg diffrence i think the other link was more accurate. someone find it. im too lazy
Remember the B16 head and the GSR head will have very different compression ratios. That may have caused the difference. If you put in stock values for X engine it comes out right, so I am thinking it work pretty good.
