Default 1/4 time

I'm new to the site, so hello everybody..

anyway's I took my R to drag strip last friday and ran some bad times..

first run was a 15.4 at 90mph
second was a 15.2 and 91mph and also my best... my reaction times were good but my 60' foot were 2.4's and 2.3's..

so my ? is even with my bad 60' foot times should I have been faster in the 1/4 like in the low 15.0 or at least 14.9's, or do I suck as driver.... My car is stock besides a AEM CAI.

Since I'm a newbie I thought it's a good ? to ask but you will probably destroy me ha ha

Wow, you guys are harsh.

I bet none of you were perfect drivers your first trip to the dragstrip.

Your times sound about right.

Get your 60-foot down to like, 2.2 or 2.1 and watch the E.T.'s fall significantly.

Somebody's sucking "ActiveAero's" ****.

I still have yet to see a stock (or bolt-on) ITR run the times some of you speak of.

Correct on the beginner driver, practice, practice, practice...

But in a stock R, I personally have run 14.4 so it is possible. But I also live in FL so Elevation > ***

You should be trapping at least 94-95mph, stock.

Was it reallly hot? go in the daytime??

What did you launch at? Realistically you should atleast be in the 14.8's @95with a AEM CAI..

Last time I was at the track I did a 14.4 at 98mph with a crap launch 2.2 60' on street tires.

Just had a K&N filter in the stock box at the time.

I want to go again just to see what my times would be.

That's pretty good. With h/e should be in the 13's.

A well broken-in ITR with I/E and sticky tires can run low 14's, (96-97 mph) but there are factors involved.

A 100% bone stock ITR with a decent driver will pull mid 14's (94-95 mph) with no problem.

A well broken-in ITR with I/2.5 collector header/E and drag radials will run 13.8 (99-100 mph traps) with ease if driven properly. Removing the a/c and p/s belts and the addition of a hondata IMG, and you may dip as much as two or three tenths.

13.6's have been pulled by full weight, internally stock ITR's. It's no myth.

All at sea level on a perfect weather day that is...

And that's the gospel for today. You can all stop yer bichin and go home now

14.4 is the best i've seen a stock itr run, no slicks no nothing, i know a bone stock ITR cant hit 13's, its hard enough to hit 13's on a s2k.

It was at night when I ran it, also it was around 70deg... I also have falken azenis
tires which are sticky as hell.

I was launching at first 3000rpm, then went up to around 5000rpm slipping the clutch a little but the car just felt like it was have a hard time getting into VTEC...

Also I just did the entire maint/ on the car fuel system flush, fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and so on. But sometimes the car ripps and feels like its runnig good, but sometimes it sure does not feel like it..

The car has 34000 miles on it and most of the cars life it sat in the garage, so I'm wondering if that has to do anything with the on and off performance I feel sometime's...

By the way guys I am a good driver, my brothers 2000 SI has a b20VTEC and I can beat him all the way to 95mph, then he starts to reel me in, but that night I would leave the line first, he would catch me in second gear and pass me like I was standing still....

14.2 with I/H/E on street tyres, should be able to knock another 1/10th or two off that with some practice.

It was probably your launch, if you had a car without lsd before you got this one, its hard to launch the car correctly without practice. Also make sure that you take off the calculated time for the tracks elevation. If you correct it, your times might be more similar to the ones posted by everyone else.

I appreciate your honesty man. Don't listen to everyone here, for your first trip that is fine. My very first pull waS 15.6 cause I had no idea how to launch or to shift. Both will come. I run about 14.5 now with I/H. I recently built my head and got into an accident so I have no idea what it runs now. But the 13. whatever second bone stock type R does not exist.

Here are some tips.
1) Let air outta front tires. 28 psi or so is good.
2) rev car up to 5k (if spin launch lower) and drop clutch on 3rd yellow light (or whatever light is before green)
3) Shift right at red line. (I shift at 8800 or so) to stay in VTEC for next gear.
4) Practice, practice, practice

steelies
missing cluster
stock internal //JDM ITR 4-1
skunk2 catback
short ram
2.4 60ft
14.312@97.75
it was my first time out, i swear something about a yellow integra makes EVERYONE want to race you!
i made 40$ from people challenging me, not betting me but "hey ill pay you 20$ if you race me instead of him."
but yeah getting that 60ft down to something reasonable and be amazed at your new times, sounds like you have to be bogging down or something... stickier tires you have to launch higher. ie. azenis, i had gay all seasons 65 series... had to launch low.
i plan on going back with some azenis and a working cluster and break into the 13's.
my R/T's were baddddddd toooo, practice practice!
like .4 to .6
