i had that happen in my car too. i found the answer on clubrsx. there is a sensor in the seat that determines the weight of the passenger. it will happen if your passenger leans a particular way in the seat, after that i dont keep things in my passenger seat.

The light will come off and on if your passenger is sitting weird. but if their is no one in the seat then you have them at an exact 90 degree angle with will turn the air bags off

if your passenger seat is at a 90 degree angle (the back support with the seat where you sit) the air bags will turn off. Try leaning your seat back and it will go off.

Sorry i had a few typos.
