Default Newly Bought '95 CBR600 F3 (with pics)

Hey guys!!!

This is my second bike (first one was a SV650S). Let me just say from driving home, this thing was an absolute dream to drive. SOO much smoother than a V-TWIN and when it hits high rpms, you can feel the power coming out. Thank God there was no more engine braking cuz that gets annoying..

I got it for $2800. It has ~25k miles on it. The guy who sold it to me was great, he was middle aged and seemed to have taken great care of the bike.

Here are some pics!

The only thing i have to get used to is driving without a gas gauge!

sorry if you dont agree with me on the engine braking, but for me its annoying in stop and go traffic when i have to press in the clutch a lot

handling is a little different. the F3 feels a bit heavier and i have to push more on the handle bars to go the way i go, but i haven't taken it to the curves yet!

And i dont think 26k is a lot, on the other CBR f3 forums , people have 47k-60 k on their bikes and they're still going

I have a liter v-twin and engine braking around town in stop and go is nothing. I pull the clutch in only when I'm stopping. Unless cbr f3's have a magical handless clutch that pulls itself in when you stop, then there's no reason you should be using it less on the i4 then the v-twin

I kinda miss constantly flying through the gears on a 600 i4. I had a chance to ride a buddy's F3 while my Superhawk's wings were clipped (lost the shift rod), and it brought back pleasant memories.

Ha Ha

25K is nothing for a well maintained CBR. CBR's are the most bullet proof sport bikes period

Engine braking definately had its positives around a curve and V-twins definitely produced WAY more power on the low-end

Im not bashing V-twins, my SV650s was sick and Im sad i had to sell it but my crotch felt sore after every drive b/c i wasn't ready for the engine braking to cut in. Call it my lack of driving experience or having a small azn d#ck but i just coudln't handle it!

my F2 is pushing 54000 miles and it's still running strong.

it is a pretty heavy bike though, esp compared to an SV or the 636 i sat on yesterday.

yeah that seems high for any bike...but i guess you didn't pay too much for it, but honestly you could have gotten a better price/deal on it I believe

25K is not a lot for a bike unless it was abused the whole time. A CBR can last over 100K miles, but most bikes are totalled before they make it to 30K.
