rear brake lock up
I'm guessing that you're talking about a Integra GSR, so I'm assuming you have rear disc brakes. As for a sensor making your brakes lock up/squeal, very unlikely if not impossible (ABS sensors wouldn't do anything of that nature). When was the last time you replaced your brake pads? rotors?
well my friend just replaced the pads with hawk hps pads like right b4 i got the car from him but i dont think he did it for the rear. but t he rotors look fine and feel fine, although i did notice that on the right rear inboard brake pad it was like almost non existant and the outboard one had pleanty of meat on it. whats up with that?
thanks
thanks
Hmmm, uneven pad wear. I've never really had that problem before. Could be something to do with driving style, or it could be a malfunctioning caliper? Is the caliper dragging any that you can tell?
yeah i talked to a guy today and he said the caliper is sticking and said the only way to fix it is to buy a new caliper but luckly theres one in stock and autozone for 75 bucks which is alot better then having to buy one right from acura and then having them install it so im gonna install it myself. has anyone done this b4 that could explain how. thanks guys
i just had to do it on my 94 ls. it isn't too bad of an install and will definitely save you some money in labor costs. you have to take off the two bolts holding on the caliper, and remove the phillips head screws for the dust shield. removing the shield gives a lot more room. i believe the e-brake cable will just slip out when you apply pressure to the mechanism, you may need a helping hand in order to fully squeeze the brake. after that, you undo the hose for the brake line, and try not to spill too much of it.
i may have missed something or have gone out of order so please if someone realizes an error, feel free to correct it. now you put the line onto the new caliper and reverse the removal process. make sure you bleed your brake system thoroughly until you see no more air bubbles coming out and the pedal becomes stiff after one or two pumps.(dont forget to constantly check and fill the master cylinder as you do this). im sure someone else can explain this better and i know iv'e seen a write-upon how to do this, if i find it ill let you know. hope this helps!
